Ginger Julep

Makes One Cocktail.

  • 2 oz. Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 5 slices fresh Ginger Root
  • 10 Mint Leaves
  • Ice

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, water, and ginger slices until sugar is dissolved. Once sugar is dissolved, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain out ginger slices. This creates a Ginger Simple Syrup. You will have extra simple syrup.

In a glass, place mint leaves (save some for garnish) and 1 oz. of Ginger Simple Syrup and muddle.

Once muddled, fill cup halfway with ice.  Add 2 oz. of Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky.

Fill rest of cup up with more ice, garnish with a mint leaf, and enjoy!
