Black Vest

Makes one cocktail.

  • ½ ounces Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky
  • 5 ounces of cider
  • ½ ounce mulled spice simple syrup*
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • Apple slice to granish

Combine all ingredients in a glass.  Stir, add ice and garnish with an apple slice.


*Mulled Spice Simple Syrup: 2 cups distilled water, 1 cup brown sugar, 3 teaspoons of  mulling spices; Add packet of mulling spices to water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Strain out mulled spices, reserving water. Combine reserved water with 1 cup brown sugar and 2 cups additional water. After mixture is fully blended, remove from heat. Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
