Virginia Distillery Co. Ships Whisky North to Massachusetts

New Market for Eades Double Malt Whiskies

Lovingston, VA – The Commonwealth of Virginia is sending its whiskies to its fellow, founding colony of Massachusetts. Eades Double Malt Whiskies entered the thirsty Boston market this month when the Virginia Distillery Co. (VDC) enlisted Atlantic Imports as its distributor. Initially, Atlantic will offer the award winning first edition Eades Speyside, Highland and Islay expressions.

“We chose Atlantic as our partner because of its commitment to artisan brands of beer and spirits,” said John McCray, president of VDC. “They have a history of long-term commitments to the brands they represent and a genuine excitement about craft distilling.”

Eades whiskies are small batch brands with limited editions, and Massachusetts will be the only market outside of Washington DC, Maryland and Delaware to feature them. The whiskies received two gold and one silver medal from the prestigious Beverage Testing Institute.

“Boston has become one of the great dining towns of North America,” says McCray. “It has destination restaurants and some of the leading mixologists in the country – and of course a long tradition of appreciating fine whiskies.”
